Famous designer Ali Xeeshan, who often makes headlines for wearing bizarre clothes at various fashion events, addressed the rude behaviour of the Karachi Fashion industry.
Lately, the designer appeared in Ahmed Ali Butt’s podcast where he opened up about the maltreatment of the industry with him and recalled how a big editor’s remarks about his mother initiated an ugly fight.
Ali Xeeshan while talking about the Karachi Fashion industry’s rude behaviour, said that after he was given the platform by Mrs. Saigol in Lahore, he became an overnight star in Lahore. “This wasn’t liked by the Karachi fashion industry because I got approval of people as a fashion designer. Then I went to the city,” he said.
He continued, “I was sitting with all the big names when Raheel Rao of Diva showed me his article about my Fashion show in Lahore, and said ‘See I reviewed your work, read my article about you, the worst review, see this trash collection, the trash of Lahore, this is your worth'”.
The designer continued that he was so hurt. “The Karachi fashion industry made me cry, I went to the car and cried like I had lost my baby.” He said, “I am a fashion graduate and you have no degree to review my work. You don’t have the right to question my work”.
Talking about Raheel’s remarks regarding his mother, Ali said, “He kept on trolling me, I was conducting a fashion show in Lahore, my mother was on her Umrah trip, I kept a chair spare for her, in that fashion show, he said, ‘Circus in the town and also wrote on Facebook about me, “Holy Cow What The ____ is Ali Xeeshan Wearing!!”.
According to Xeeshan, no one has the credentials to talk about his fashion or work. “At the after party of the show, he tapped my shoulder and said, ‘Which mother has given birth to this guy’, I couldn’t control my anger and slapped him. I am sorry I couldn’t control myself.”
He also said that he often urges people to stop bullying others and accept them. He also said that the industry doesn’t belong to the Karachi people.
