An explosion occurred near the gate of the Norar Police Station (Merian) in the Bannu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the Bannu Police, two people were killed as a result of the blast. Police further stated that 12 others were injured and have been shifted to the hospital for treatment.
Police officials reported that the explosive material was installed on a motorcycle, which was then detonated by unknown terrorists.
Following the explosion, a heavy contingent of police and security forces reached the site to secure the perimeter and initiate a search operation in the surrounding neighborhoods.
Rescue teams and local volunteers shifted the injured to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Bannu.
Hospital sources indicate that while most of the victims are in stable condition, at least three individuals remain in critical condition due to shrapnel injuries.
