Star Indian batsmen and former captains, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, have decided to bid farewell to ODI cricket as well, and the duo is expected to make an official announcement soon.
According to the details, India’s superstar batsmen Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have also decided to retire from ODI cricket. The announcement will be made in the next few weeks, when the team has played three ODIs in Australia.
According to the Indian news agency, both the senior players are not happy with the decisions and attitude of the BCCI. Both batsmen have already left T20 International and Test cricket. Now Rohit Sharma’s removal from the captaincy has made new headlines.
Shubman Gill has been appointed as India’s new ODI captain, and he will replace Rohit Sharma in the upcoming three-match ODI series in Australia.
This will be Gill’s first series as the captain of the ODI team; he has previously captained the Test and T20 teams. The change in captaincy has been made with the ICC ODI World Cup in mind in 2027.
