Elon Musk confirms Russian cyberattacks on Starlink network
Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed that his satellite-based internet service, Starlink, has resisted all cyber attacks by Russia.
Cyber analysts had warned Starlink satellites, operated by SpaceX, against Russian cyber attacks.
The internet system was offered to Ukrainians by Elon Musk amidst war. Many downloaded Starlink in order to stay online during the conflict.
The low-orbit satellites allowed war-stricken people to diversify communications making it difficult for Russia to restrict networking.
Hans Horan, a cyber analyst at intelligence consultancy Sibylline, said: “I think it’s best to assume Russian hackers are always probing systems.”
SpaceX reprioritized to cyber defense & overcoming signal jamming.
Will cause slight delays in Starship & Starlink V2.
