ISLAMABAD: The duration of loadshedding has been increased in different cities of the country including the federal capital Islamabad while the power shortfall is more than 6000 MW.
According to details, despite clear instructions of Prime Minister Mian Shehbaz Sharif across the country, the problem of loadshedding could not be solved. 10 hours loadshedding is being carried out in Peshawar and Quetta.
The duration of power outage in Lahore, the provincial capital of Punjab, reached 7 to 8 hours daily. In Islamabad also loadshedding of 6 to 8 hours is going on on daily basis.
LESCO officials said that the demand for electricity in the province is 5,500 MW while the supply is up to 4,650 MW while the government has claimed to contain the duration of loadshedding to 2 hours.

Yesterday, Federal Minister for Information Maryam Aurangzeb said that till June 30, the duration of loadshedding will be reduced to 2 hours while from June 16 to 24, the power will be cut off for 3 hours only.
