ISLAMABAD: The prices of electricity have increased by more than 50 percent in one year.
The details of the increase in electricity prices have been revealed in one year. According to the Nepra document, electricity has been increased due to fuel adjustment and surcharges. The basic electricity tariff has increased by Rs. 10.
The document stated that electricity rates for domestic consumers have increased by Rs 8.50 paise, taking the tariff of consumers from Rs 18.04 to Rs 26.54.

On the other hand, the electricity of commercial consumers increased by 11 rupees per unit, the electricity of industrial consumers increased by 9 rupees 55 paisa, and the tariff of agricultural consumers increased by 9 rupees 14 paisa.
According to the Nepra document, the price of energy increased from 655 billion to 1152 billion, capacity charges increased from 794 billion to 1251 billion, the production cost of electricity increased by 22 percent, while the total production cost increased from 1515 billion to 2518 billion.
