After more than a decade, the Edhi Foundation has successfully traced and reunited a missing girl with her family.
According to the foundation, the 12-year-old girl, Ariella, was found on December 15, 2015, in the Akhtar Colony area and was later shifted to Edhi Home Sohrab Goth.
She remained under care at the Edhi Home, where she was looked after over the years. Officials said that with the passage of time, Ariella grew up and is now 23 years old. After 11 years, her father finally identified her.
Following verification of her identity, Ariella was handed over to her father, Haq Nawaz, and her brother.
Emotional scenes were witnessed during the long-awaited reunion with her family.
Last year, a girl who had gone missing from Islamabad 17 years earlier was found at the Edhi Centre in Karachi. Kiran, now 27, was reunited with her father after years of separation.
Kiran said she had gone out to buy ice cream at the time of her disappearance but became lost. She recalled being taken to an Edhi Centre in Islamabad before later being transferred to the Karachi facility by Bilquis Edhi.
