The Election Commission officials will ask the Federal Ministry of Interior under the leadership of Rana Sanaullah for security consisting of the Pakistan Army, Rangers, and other law enforcement agencies. Earlier, concerned ministries had waived security and funds.

Earlier, on the instructions of Chairman PTI Imran Khan, members of Tehreek-e-Insaaf resigned. PTI dissolved Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab Assemblies to meet the demand of holding general elections across the country.

The federal government is allegedly using delaying tactics against the holding of elections, however, the Supreme Court has cleared the way for the end of the ongoing political crisis across the country by ordering the election commission to hold elections in 90 days.
