The Dumper Association has threatened to suspend goods transport if fuel prices are not reduced.
Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, the president of the All Truck Dumper Association said that the rising prices of petrol and diesel are severely affecting goods transporters.
He added that the Sindh government’s claims of providing subsidies to transporters are meaningless, warning that if petroleum prices are not lowered, goods transport operations will be shut down.
Earlier, the Petrol Pump Dealers Association had also once again threatened to close fuel stations over the failure to increase their profit margins.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, Chairman of the Petrol Pump Dealers Association, Sami Khan, said that rising petroleum prices are making it difficult for them to cover their expenses.
He added that the government has set the dealers’ margin too low, and if it is not increased, petrol pumps will have to be closed.
He warned that if their demands are not accepted, they will proceed with shutting down the pumps.
During the press conference, leader of the Petrol Pump Owners Association, Humayun Khan, said that the government has ruined the business of petrol pump dealers. He noted that while fuel prices have been increased, the dealers’ margin remains unchanged.
Humayun Khan further said that if the government does not raise the dealers’ margin, petrol pumps will start shutting down on their own.
