DPO takes notice of maid’s suspected rape and murder in Gujrat

GUJRAT: District Police Officer (DPO) Gujrat on Wednesday took the notice of a 20-year-old girl’s suspected rape and murder, who was working as a maid in a private doctor’s house.
As per sources, the incident took place in Kharian Cantt area of Gujrat, where the victim, Rimsha, was allegedly raped and tortured to death. Later, she was buried in a coffin on Tuesday night as the accused claimed that she died of coronavirus.
However, sources said that the deceased’s coronavirus report came out to be negative afterwards. On the other hand, the deceased’s father, Ghulam Yasin alleged that the negative report of his daughter for the coronavirus confirmed that his daughter was killed.
Ghulam Yasin further said that her daughter was working in the house of Dr Muhammad Ali at the monthly salary of Rs 8000 science 2019.
Dr. Muhammad Ali, the accused, in a statement said that Rimsha was sick due to coronavirus infection and was also taken to Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Hospital Kharian and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Gujrat for her checkup.
Sources said that the accused had failed to provide any evidence or report of the victim’s checkup. Meanwhile, Gujrat police have registered two separate FIRs against two persons, including Dr. Ali, on the complaint of Ghulam Yasin.
The girl’s family appealed Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar and other concerned high-ups to order postmortem of Rimsha and provide them justice.
