Brazilian influencer Juliana Isen, a former Playboy model, underwent reconstructive surgery after a dog bite left her with severe injuries on New Year’s Eve. The 39-year-old shared the harrowing experience with her 2.5 million Instagram followers, revealing that the incident took place at a party in Mexico City.
Isen explained that she attempted to pet an Akita Inu dog during the gathering when the animal unexpectedly bit her hand and the tip of her nose. She was immediately rushed to Angeles Hospital, where doctors performed a two-hour surgery to repair the damage to her nose.
In her Instagram post, Isen shared images of the injury, saying, “Look what a dog bite resulted in.” She continued, explaining that the surgery not only removed bacteria but also reconstructed her entire nose. “Thank God, the plastic surgeon said I won’t have any scars,” she added.
Surprisingly, Isen found that her new nose looked even better than before. “I’m happier because the doctor said I don’t need to do anything in Brazil. He reconstructed my entire nose,” she explained. “It’s perfect. I think he even refined it a little more, it’s thinner.”
Isen was discharged from the hospital on Thursday. She also revealed that, while she tested negative for rabies, she had been infected by a dangerous bacteria. “I’m taking antibiotics and being monitored to avoid complications,” she added.
Isen, who made headlines in 2015 for a topless protest against former Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff, has since made a full recovery and is now sharing her journey with her followers.
