KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a medical doctor for attempting to impersonate his brother during a recruitment examination in Karachi.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the accused, identified as Abid Ali, attempted to sit for the exam using a fraudulent admit slip. The actual candidate, Ashiq Ali, was apprehended by authorities outside the examination center.
Investigations revealed a significant disparity in the qualifications of the two individuals; while the impersonator, Abid Ali, is a qualified doctor, the legitimate candidate, Ashiq Ali, holds a diploma in civil engineering. Both suspects have since confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The FIA has registered a formal case against the duo at the FIA Crime Circle in Hyderabad. The charges include forgery, cheating, and the use of fake documents.
Commenting on the incident, the FIA spokesperson emphasized that the agency maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding forgery, impersonation, and cheating within its hiring processes. The official further stated that strict monitoring will remain in place to ensure that all recruitment are conducted with complete transparency and based strictly on merit.
