ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr. Shireen Mazari has supported the disabled children by saying that they are not a curse.
The statement of Shireen Mazari was a reply to Punjab information minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan who had recently labeled the special children a curse from God.
Mazari wrote, “Special children are not an “azaab” but are special human beings to be cared for and loved and allowed to develop their own potential. In fact, no child can ever be an “azaab” and for anyone to make such a cruel, inhumane statement is absolutely unforgivable and condemnable.”

Chohan has earlier made a controversial statement today by terming the disabled children as a curse sent by God.
“God punishes those [hoarders] in a way that we have seen in our society and in history. Disabled children are born; and then such things follow that make those who know their history, analyze that this was the action that made Allah send his curse upon him and his family,” Chohan was quoted saying it in a press conference in Lahore.
