Pakistani dramas, which have a tremendous reputation among neighbouring countries, have become quite unpredictable nowadays.
Sometimes our dramas show spouses getting married off as toddlers with a considerable age difference, an older man falling for his friend’s estranged young daughter, the illicit relationship of a man with his sister-in-law and this is not it.
Recently, a new Pakistani drama has shown foster siblings getting married. In the current information age, television plays an important role in crafting people’s way of living, and their prospect of thinking, the content aired in Pakistan, is however the opposite.
The makers of the drama drama ‘Juda Huway Kuch Iss Tarah’ were maybe desperate to show something unique and different from cousin marriage, so they decided to show siblings getting married on the show, but is this possible?
Story
The latest promo of ‘Juda Huway Kuch Iss Tarah’ has shown the two leads getting married. After some time, it is revealed that both are foster siblings (Rezai behan bhai) and they are prohibited to marry each other, as per the religion.

One twist was not enough in this drama so the makers decided to shock the audience with another twist that the same couple who got married is expecting soon.
Call it unique or perhaps a new storyline with a theme, Pakistanis are not ready for such a script for the next ten years.
Foster Relationship and Islam
Islam prohibits marriage between milk brothers and sisters. The prohibition of marriage between milk siblings imposed by the religion of Islam, which takes into account this regulatory and equalizing effect of milk on the genetic structure of milk siblings breastfed by the same mother, is suitable and appropriate for wisdom, affairs, and scientific approach.
Unique or bizarre? The concept
No wonder the scriptwriter behind this drama is Khalil Ur Rehman. The writer is no stranger to controversy, particularly when it comes to his views about women and their place in society.
The drama is currently airing on Hum TV. The drama stars Dur-e-Fishan Saleem and Nabeel Zuberi in lead roles.
A huge surprise is yet to be revealed that is the project is owned by non-other than Momina Duraid, who has made notable dramas such as Parizaad, Diyar-e-Dil, Yakeen Ka Safar, Ehd-e-Wafa, and Humsafar.
Responsibility
It’s 2021 and we are still stuck among the idea of premarital relationships, extramarital affairs, a patriarchal regime, and misogyny; this is all we watch nowadays in Pakistani dramas. It is high time for writers like Rehman and producers like Duraid to raise a bar and maintain iconic innovative concepts besides such a nauseous storyline.
