After missing out on a trip to Thailand for Season 3, Bollywood megastar Deepika Padukone is reportedly finalized to join the high-profile ensemble of Season 4 of HBO’s Emmy-winning anthology, The White Lotus.
The buzz surrounding Padukone’s Hollywood return reached a fever pitch this week following reports that she will star alongside industry titans Helena Bonham Carter and Chris Messina. While HBO has yet to issue a formal “reservation confirmation,” industry insiders suggest the deal is essentially done, marking Padukone’s most significant international venture since her 2017 debut in xXx: Return of Xander Cage.
The Road to the Riviera
Rumors of Padukone joining the Mike White-created series first surfaced in 2024. At the time, she was reportedly in talks for Season 3 (set in Thailand) but had to decline the offer to prioritize her pregnancy and the birth of her daughter, Dua.
With Season 4 confirmed to be set in France, the production is reportedly eyeing the iconic Château de La Messardière in Saint-Tropez as its central filming location.
What We Know So Far
Filming is expected to run from April to October 2026.
Padukone would join a star-studded roster that already includes.
Helena Bonham Carter (The Crown)
Chris Messina (The Mindy Project)
Steve Coogan (Philomena)
Sandra Bernhard (Pose)
Alexander Ludwig (Vikings)
The season is tentatively scheduled for a late 2026 or early 2027 release.
A Milestone Year for “DP”
2026 is shaping up to be a historic year for the actress. Beyond the White Lotus buzz, Padukone was recently named as a member of the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026, making her the first Indian actress to receive the honor.
