ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a virtual meeting with Asian Infrastructure and Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jin Liqun on Saturday, as part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank Spring meetings 2023.
The meeting was aimed at strengthening the partnership between Pakistan and AIIB to achieve mutual development goals.
The meeting was attended by various officials, including Minister of State for Finance and Revenue Dr. Aisha Ghous Pasha, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Finance Tariq Bajwa, SAPM on Revenue Tariq Mehmood Pasha, Ambassador of Pakistan to the USA Masood Ahmad Khan, Governor State Bank of Pakistan Jamil Ahmad, Secretary Finance, and Secretary Economic Affairs Division.
During the meeting, Dar shared the current economic outlook of Pakistan and informed the AIIB President about the government’s economic policies and reforms for sustainable economic development. He also expressed gratitude for AIIB’s support in the rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-affected areas in the country.
Liqun praised the relationship between Pakistan and AIIB and appreciated the economic policies and reforms of the present government. He also highlighted AIIB’s role in infrastructure development projects and investment, and extended the bank’s complete support and cooperation to Pakistan.
Dar thanked the AIIB President for his continuous support to Pakistan for the sustainable economic development of the country.
