A wedding celebration in Hyderabad turned tragic when a female dancer, identified as Mehndi, was shot dead during her performance at the ceremony.
The incident occurred at a wedding in the village of Naseer Khan, located in the suburban area of Tando Jam, Hyderabad. According to police sources, Mehndi was invited to entertain the guests with a dance performance, but it tragically became her last.
Unidentified assailants opened fire during the wedding, killing the dancer on the spot. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting, though the perpetrators remain at large.
In the wake of the incident, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur Tohidur Rehman Memon took strict action against police personnel for their negligence. One officer was terminated, while 25 others were suspended for one year due to their failure to perform their duties effectively while on duty at the National Highway.
Additionally, SSP Memon ordered the deduction of one month’s salary from seven officers and issued show-cause notices to ten others for inefficiency and negligence during their assignments.
The SSP emphasized that officers who perform their duties with dedication and honesty will be rewarded, while strict actions will be taken against those found guilty of negligence or inefficiency. He urged the police force to serve the public with sincerity and commitment to avoid punitive actions.
