Daily COVID-19 cases drop under 400 in Pakistan

KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 279,149 in Pakistan, while the death toll stands at 5,976 while 248,577 patients have recovered from the disease across the country.
The number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan is declining rapidly. according to the data released by the National Command and Operational Center, the number of coronavirus active cases in the country is currently 25,146.
The number of COVID-19 patients in Sindh has risen to 121,309, at least 34,160 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,762 in Balochistan, 15,052 in Islamabad, 2,086 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 2,157 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 93,173 in Punjab.

The death toll from the virus has risen to 2,140 in Punjab, 2,209 in Sindh, 1,194 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 165 in Islamabad, 136 in Balochistan, 54 in Azad Kashmir and 53 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The first case of coronavirus in Pakistan was registered on 26th February. Moreover, the government had announced strict restrictions to contain the virus’ spread during the Eid al-Azha.
Authorities have imposed locality-based lockdowns in virus area across 20 cities since June, and many officials, including Prime Minister Imran Khan, have credited this strategy for the country’s improving numbers.
