The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has carried out an operation in the Darakhshan area of Quetta, the capital of Balochistan.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the CTD killed 8 terrorists during the operation.
The CTD spokesperson has said that 3 CTD officials were also injured in the exchange of fire.
According to the spokesperson, arms and ammunition have been recovered from the slain terrorists.
The CTD spokesperson also says that the terrorists are said to be affiliated with a banned organization.
Following the exchange of fire, a heavy contingent of police and security forces cordoned off the Darakhshan neighborhood to initiate a comprehensive search and sweeping operation.
This intelligence-based raid is part of an intensified security crackdown across Balochistan following the recent conclusion of “Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1,” aimed at dismantling the remaining sleeper cells of outlawed groups and restoring permanent peace to the provincial capital.
