Nine Indian soldiers killed in cross-LoC firing: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Nine soldiers were killed whereas several other were injured on Sunday when Pakistan Army troops responded befittingly to Indian ceasefire violations across the Line of Control.

The Indian troops were targeting unarmed civilians in sectors like Nousehri, Jura and Shahkot situated along with Line of Control (LoC).

According to statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), one Pakistani soldier and three civilians embraced martyrdom in the cross firing. Two more soldiers and around five civilians received injuries as well who have been shifted to district hospitals.

“Targeting innocent civilians by Indian Army is an attempt to justify their false claims of targeting alleged camps,” said the ISPR about alleged launchpads being targeted by Indian forces.

The military’s press wing added that UNMOGIP as well as local and foreign media have access to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), unlike Indian-Occupied Kashmir which is underway a brutal lockdown and communication blockade.

“Pakistan Army shall protect innocent civilians along LOC & inflict unbearable cost to Indian Army. Indian lies to justify their false claims & preparations for a false flag operation will continue to be exposed with truth,” added the ISPR.

This is not the first time that Indian forces have targeted the civilians. Earlier, on 15th of October, Indian forces opened fire on the locals of Nezapir Sector.
