LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has declared the election of Hamza Shehbaz as Punjab Chief Minister null and void.
According to details, the Lahore High Court has declared the election of Hamza Shahbaz as Punjab Chief Minister null and void. A five-member larger bench of the Lahore High Court heard the petitions.
The High Court today accepted the PTI’s petitions against the election of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz. Dealing with the petitions, the court gave a brief verdict.
The court said that a detailed decision on the petitions filed against the election of Hamza Shehbaz as Chief Minister would be uploaded on the website of the Lahore High Court which could be viewed online.
On the other hand, Advocate General Punjab said that whether the PTI’s petitions were accepted or rejected in the Lahore High Court, it would be premature to say anything. The whole situation will be clear in the written decision.

It may be recalled that earlier Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz had directed the coalition members of the Provincial Assembly to reach Lahore immediately in view of the fear of losing their posts under the court order.
Following the recent remarks of the Lahore High Court, the Punjab Chief Minister mobilized to save the seat. Hamza Shehbaz yesterday directed the coalition members to reach Lahore to deal with a possible no-confidence motion.
Two days before today, the Lahore High Court, while giving remarks, said that if the polling for the election of the Chief Minister is held again, how can the crisis be avoided? Because if a poll is held, the candidate who gets the majority will become the Chief Minister.
