Paris Saint-Germain is going through a rough patch. Following a 3-1 defeat to Lorient at Parc des Princes, the team suffered yet another setback.
It was the third setback in the previous four home contests and Ligue 1’s sixth loss of the year. After losing to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and Marseille in the Coupe de France, PSG is again having trouble in domestic competitions.
Even though PSG is accustomed to winning the French League, they must remain composed during the season’s final stages.
With five games remaining in the Ligue 1 season, they lead the standings by five points after losing to Lorient, which allowed second-placed Marseille to cut the gap on PSG. Despite being nine points behind Lens in third place, they still have a game in hand.

After the loss to Lorient, PSG coach Christophe Galtier demanded that his players react in order to clinch the Ligue 1 title.
“It’s another defeat that doesn’t come at the right moment. When you make that start, you can’t expect anything else. We were absent for 20 minutes,” he said.
“We are five points behind PSG, it’s a motivation, and on a personal level I also like to be close to the leaders,” he noted.
“You have to believe in the title, I believe in it. You have to have hope and stay united as a team.”
Meanwhile, PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos has called for unity ahead of this crucial last stretch of the 2022/23 campaign.
“We need the fans, the players, the coach and all the staff to finish the season well,” he told Canal+.
