TEHRAN: At least two people died and 13 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Iran today (Friday).
According to the Spokesperson of Health Ministry, Kianush Jahanpur, the outbreak of coronavirus first appeared in Iran on Wednesday when two people died in the holy city of Qom.
The spokesperson said, “Thirteen cases are confirmed in which two of them lost lives,” adding that the cases reported includes seven in Qom, four in Tehran, and two in Gilan on the Caspian Sea coast.
He said, “Most of the cases are still either Qom residents or were people who had come from Qom to other provinces in recent days and weeks.”
He also informed that Iran had received four shipments of medical kits form the World Health Organization to detect coronavirus.
