LAHORE: Chief Minister of Punjab Usman Buzdar has conducted aerial monitoring of the lockdown situation in Lahore and its adjacent areas today (Friday).
CM Buzdar expressed satisfaction over the implementation of precautionary measures ensured by the provincial government while observing closed markets and commercial centres.
In this regard, CM Punjab paid tribute to the provincial police, Pakistan Army and Rangers for their exemplary services amid coronavirus outbreak.
On the occasion, he said that all the precautionary steps have been taken to ensure the safety of the citizens, adding that the deadly disease would not spread if people stay at home.
He further said, “It’s my responsibility to ensure the safety of people of Punjab and I will take all the possible steps to get rid of this disease.”
CM Usman Buzdar also thanked the citizens, transporters, and traders for cooperating with the government in the ongoing tough situation.
Earlier, CM Punjab Usman Buzdar imposed a province-wide lockdown in a bid to halt the spread of coronavirus. Punjab remained the worst affected province in the country from coronavirus with 11 deaths and more than 900 confirmed cases.
So far, coronavirus has claimed lives of almost 35 people in Pakistan and has affected more than 2,400 people.
