KARACHI: The confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan have surged to 3,278 after new cases were reported in several areas across the country on Monday.
According to government data, until 9 am today, the number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan rose after new 151 new cases were reported during the past 24 hours.
According to the National Command and Control Centre, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 50, while at least 171 patients have fully recovered.
The confirmed cases in Punjab stand at 1493 making it the worst-hit province in the country with 15 deaths followed by Sindh, 881 (15 deaths), Kyber Pakhtunkhwa, 405 (16 deaths), Gilgit Baltistan, 210 (3 deaths), Balochistan 192 (1 death), Islamabad 82 and Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 15 (1 death).
The coronavirus tally has crossed more than 1,274,022 cases globally with 69,468 deaths to date along with 264,833 patients who recovered from it across the globe. The coronavirus first emerged in China’s Wuhan city in 2019.
