Coronavirus cases jump to 14,787 in Pakistan

Sindh, KP reports new coronavirus cases
KARACHI: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 14,787 in Pakistan on Wednesday, while the death toll stands at 327.
According to the national dashboard, the country has reported 327 deaths. So far, 3,332 patients have recovered from COVID-19 across the country.
After a sharp increase in the cases, the number of patients swelled to 5,827 in Punjab, the most affected region in Pakistan. The confirmed cases have surged to 2,160 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Sindh reported 335 new cases of the coronavirus in the province taking the total number of COVID-19 cases to 5,291. As many as 302 people have recovered from the infection.
There are 65 cases in Azad Jammu and Kashmir while 29 patients have recovered. Total 261 cases were reported in Islamabad while around 22 patients have recovered so far.
A number of 330 coronavirus cases were reported in Gilgit-Baltistan. Health officials in Gilgit-Baltistan on Tuesday confirmed 10 more coronavirus patients in the region.
The total number of fatalities due to the deadly virus stands at 114 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 100 in Punjab, 92 in Sindh, 14 in Balochistan, 03 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 04 in Islamabad.
As many 113 are said to be critical as the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases. As per details, 21 percent of the cases have foreign travel history while 79 percent of the cases are reported to be locally transmitted.
Globally, officials have recorded more than 3 million cases and 210,000 deaths since the COVID-19 emerged in China in December 2019.
