BANNU: A policeman was martyred while others injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on a police mobile van on Kohat Road in Bannu on Saturday.
MM News has learnt that heavy police contingents rushed to the site after receiving the information after which the gunmen took an entire family hostage in Umar Dogarzai area. Police and security forces had cordoned off the entire village of Umar Dogarzai and attempts were being made to secure the safe release of the hostage family.
Chief of Dumail Malik Ismail Wazir, police and other elders had also reached the scene.
This came just hours after militants attacked a police station in the outskirts of another KP town Lakki Marwat, claiming life of a constable.
