Cold weather intensified as temperatures dropped to 8 degrees Celsius on Saturday night, with Siberian winds affecting the southern port city.
The maximum temperature recorded was 24°C, while the mercury fell to 8°C around 7am, with the average temperature recorded at 16°C. Humidity levels stood at 51 per cent.
The meteorological department has forecast that the cold wave will persist for the next three to four days, with temperatures expected to drop further.
Meanwhile, the Sindh Education Department on Saturday announced revised school timings, directing all public and private schools to begin classes at 9am, while closing times will remain unchanged.
According to an official notification, the revised timings will take effect from Monday, January 12, and remain in place until January 26, due to the severe cold wave affecting Sindh.
The decision was made on the instructions of Education Minister Sardar Shah, according to a post on X by the Minister for Education and Literacy, Government of Sindh.
