CM Punjab takes notice of killing of man in Sialkot over alleged blasphemy

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar has taken notice of the killing of a man named Priyantha Kumara in Sialkot on charges of alleged blasphemy.

According to the sources, a mob in Sialkot tortured Priyantha Kumara, who was a general manager of a private factory titled Rajco industries, and killed him before burning his body on Wazirabad Road, Sialkot. Priyantha Kumara was a Sri Lankan national.

A heavy contingent of police was sent to the area to bring the situation under control. According to sources, the mob was the workers of the private factory where Kumara was the manager. The mob attacked the deceased and burnt his body after killing him.

Social media users are outraged over the terrible incident and have been demanding justice since then. A user wrote,”More than a decade since Mughees and Muneeb were lynched to death by an angry mob in Sialkot. 10 years down the lane and we’re still the same. This is horrific, shocking and sickening to the core.”
