Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday announced to distribute free cows and buffaloes worth Rs2 billion among widows and poor women in South Punjab.
According to her announcement, in the first phase of the program, as many as 4870 cows and buffaloes will be distributed among 11,000 widows and poor women living in twelve districts of South Punjab.
As per the Punjab Chief Minister’s Livestock Assets Programme, poor women living in Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Layyah, and Kot Addu, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Vehari, Rahim Yar Khan, and Bahawalpur will be provided free cattle.
The widows and divorced women aged 55 can apply for this program through an App from their home. To get free cattle, the women can contact the Chief Minister’s Helpdesk established in the Veterinary Hospitals.
It should be noted that after becoming the Chief Minister last year, Maryam has initiated several programs for the underprivileged segment of the society in Punjab.
