Civilian injured in Indian shelling from across LoC: ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Indian forces resorted on unprovoked ceasefire violation across the Line of Control (LoC) and injured an innocent Pakistani citizen, said military’s media wing on Monday.
According to the ISPR, “Indian Army troops resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in Khuiratta Sector along #LOC. Due to indiscriminate fire of automatics at a house in Jijot village, an innocent citizen sustained serious injuries.”
The statement added that the injured civilian had been evacuated to a nearby health facility for medical treatment.
The latest ceasefire violation comes hours after Pakistan lodged protest with Indian over the ceasefire violations by the Indian occupation forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in Khuiratta Sector, on 17 May 2020, resulting in serious injuries to an innocent civilian.
According to ISPR, Indian occupation forces display complete disregard for human rights by repeated shelling and firing resulting in a large number of civilians’ shahadats and injuries.
It was stressed that by raising tensions along the LoC and the WB, India cannot divert attention from the grave human rights situation in the Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K).
The Indian side was called upon to respect the 2003 Ceasefire Understanding, investigate this and other such incidents of deliberate ceasefire violations and maintain peace along the LoC and the Working Boundary.
