On Monday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian reaffirmed Beijing’s steadfast commitment to Pakistan, emphasizing that no efforts to shake the bond of trust and collaboration between the two nations would prevail.
Lin reiterated China’s ongoing support for Pakistan’s anti-terrorism initiatives and pledged to “consistently safeguard” Chinese citizens and institutions abroad. He remarked, “China and Pakistan remain aligned in overcoming any attempts to harm our relationship and ensuring justice for terrorists.”
Referring to the China-Pakistan alliance as an “enduring strategic cooperative partnership,” Lin underscored the deep-seated trust shared by both countries. “Any endeavor to weaken our trust and cooperation is destined to fail,” he declared.
Lin also emphasized China’s commitment to Pakistan’s economic and social development, pointing out that cooperative projects across a range of industries would keep improving the lives of people in both countries.
Lin was asked during a news briefing if recent attacks on Chinese citizens in Pakistan have raised worries about their safety. “China highlights that terrorism is a global threat and that the international community has a shared responsibility to combat terrorism and prevent such incidents,” he responded.
Lin concluded by reiterating, “China will maintain its support for Pakistan’s economic and social advancements and work to enhance the well-being of its citizens. Our partnership across multiple domains will continue to serve the interests of both nations.”
