The prices of cement recorded an increase across Pakistan during the past week.
According to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), during the week ending December 11, the average retail price of cement in northern cities rose to Rs1,389 per bag, reflecting an increase of 0.70 per cent compared to the previous week.
In the preceding week, the average price in northern cities stood at Rs1,379 per bag.
Similarly, cement prices in southern cities also witnessed a marginal increase.
During the week under review, the average retail price in southern cities was recorded at Rs1,445 per bag, up by 0.29 per cent from Rs1,441 per bag in the previous week.
City-wise data showed variations in cement prices across the country.
In northern cities, the average retail price per bag was recorded at Rs1,367 in Islamabad, Rs1,361 in Rawalpindi, Rs1,420 in Gujranwala, Rs1,400 in Sialkot, Rs1,488 in Lahore, Rs1,380 in Faisalabad, Rs1,397 in Sargodha, Rs1,397 in Multan, Rs1,400 in Bahawalpur, Rs1,370 in Peshawar and Rs1,300 in Bannu.
In southern cities, cement prices averaged Rs1,378 per bag in Karachi, Rs1,428 in Hyderabad, Rs1,525 in Sukkur, Rs1,407 in Larkana, Rs1,490 in Quetta and Rs1,443 in Khuzdar during the week ending December 11.
