Bushra Bibi, the wife of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, has reportedly issued a stern warning to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, demanding that he deliver results this time or face removal from his position.
Sources close to the matter told a private news channel that during a recent meeting in Peshawar, Bushra Bibi expressed her frustration over CM Gandapur’s previous failures to mobilize successful protests on behalf of PTI, particularly for Imran Khan’s release. She reportedly informed the Chief Minister that this would be his final opportunity to prove his effectiveness, warning that if he failed again, he would no longer remain in office.
“I have received reports from the last protest and convoys. Many officials and members participated just to mark their attendance, and several left with their supporters from various locations. This time, that will not be tolerated. We must reach Islamabad at all costs, and strict action will be taken against those who fail to follow instructions,” Bushra Bibi was quoted as saying by the TV channel.
In addition, Bushra Bibi directed PTI lawmakers to bring at least 5,000 supporters each to the protest, including their family members. Each Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) was made responsible for organizing the logistics, including food and transportation for the protestors.
The channel further reported that many PTI members expressed discomfort with the requirement to bring their families, with some feeling the pressure from Bushra Bibi to comply with her demands. However, it was understood that CM Gandapur was under significant pressure to ensure the success of the protest and meet Bushra Bibi’s expectations.
The warning comes as PTI prepares for another large-scale protest, and the party leadership is emphasizing greater accountability and mobilization for the demonstration.
