KARACHI: Renowned actress Bushra Ansari is facing strong criticism on social media after she came out in defence of actor Fahad Sheikh in his ongoing controversy with senior actor Syed Muhammad Ahmed, with users calling her stance hypocritical.
Earlier, sharing her thoughts on the matter, Bushra Ansari had said that whenever artists work together, there is an environment on set where everyone enjoys each other’s company and has fun. She added that when the incident happened, Muhammad Ahmed also ignored it at the time, but perhaps later he felt that it had gone too far.

According to her, Fahad Sheikh should be forgiven after his apology, and there should be no talk of banning him because it was not like he told him to leave the room or leave the seat. She had argued that one mistake should not put a young artist’s future at stake.
However, her statement did not sit well with a section of social media users.
Soon after her video statement went viral, users began calling her a hypocrite, recalling an earlier incident where she had expressed anger when a mimicry artist copied her style. Many argued that she is taking the current matter lightly because it does not involve her personally.
Reacting to her defence, one user wrote, “When a mimicry artist copied you, why was that wrong? Then why did you call out that mimicry artist? Shame on you.”
Another user commented, “Bushra is also promoting toxic and uncivilized behavior.”
A third user demanded strict action, writing, “In this case, that boy should receive a lesson-worthy punishment. If something like this happened to Bushra Sahiba herself, how would she have reacted?”
Another comment read, “When Bushra Ansari Sahiba’s mimicry was made, she got so angry at a poor artist. Then why doesn’t Ahmad Sahab have the same right?”
One more user wrote, “Bushra Ansari, Aijaz Aslam, and Faysal Quraishi should apologize for defending this behavior.”

The controversy began after Syed Muhammad Ahmed revealed in a podcast that a junior actor had insulted him on set. He was later identified by social media users as Fahad Sheikh after a behind-the-scenes video went viral. Fahad Sheikh has denied the bullying allegations, stating the video was taken out of context and that he has already apologized to the senior actor both privately and publicly.
The issue continues to draw divided opinions from within the showbiz fraternity and on social media.
