ISLAMABAD: Bulls extended their control on the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday, with the benchmark index accumulating gains all day long ahead of earnings season.
The KSE-100 Index remained in the green for almost the entire session, registering its intraday high at 47,843.34 after gaining almost 500 points. It settled higher by 444.55 points at 47,800.57.
Among other indices, the KMI-30 Index accumulated 899.40 points to close at 77,520.94, while the KSE All Share Index added 341.93 points, ending at 32,821.75.
Trading volumes moved up to 760 million shares today as compared to 549.66 million shares during the previous trading day, while the daily traded value inched up to Rs16.25 billion from Rs15.88 billion in the previous session.
A total of 760,008,762 shares were traded during the day compared to the trade of 549,666,158 shares the previous day whereas the price of shares stood at Rs16.258 billion against Rs15.882 billion the previous day.
As many as 421 companies transacted shares in the stock market, 302 of them recorded gain and 107 sustained losses whereas the share price of 12 companies remained unchanged.
The three top traded companies were WorldCall Telecom with a volume of 199,480,000 shares and price per share of Rs3.96, Silk Bank Ltd with a volume of 51,438,000 and price per share of Rs2.01and TLP Corp Ltd with volume of 48,335,500 and price per share of Rs19.55.
