The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will remain closed on Thursday, May 1, 2025, in observance of Labor Day.
As per an official notification issued by the SBP, all banks across the country will also remain closed on that day, following the federal government’s declaration of a public holiday.
Labor Day, also recognized as International Workers’ Day, is observed worldwide to honor the historic efforts of workers in securing fair wages, improved working conditions, and reasonable working hours.
In Pakistan, the occasion is marked by rallies, seminars, and events organized by labor unions and workers’ associations to highlight the ongoing struggle for labor rights and to pay tribute to the contributions of the working class.
