In the second five-day Test match being played in Sylhet, the hosts Bangladesh national cricket team were bowled out for 390 runs in their second innings, setting Pakistan national cricket team a difficult target of 437 runs to win the match.
According to details, Bangladesh had scored 278 runs in their first innings, in response to which Pakistan were dismissed for 232 runs. Bangladesh then began their second innings and delivered an even stronger batting performance.
Having already trailed by 46 runs after the first innings, Pakistan now face the daunting challenge of chasing 437 runs. In Pakistan’s first innings, Babar Azam was the top scorer with 68 runs, while Sajid Khan contributed 38 runs.
For Bangladesh in the second innings, opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored 52 runs, Mominul Haque added 30, and wicketkeeper Litton Das made 69 runs. However, Mushfiqur Rahim played a magnificent innings of 137 runs, playing the key role in taking his side’s total to 390.
Among the Pakistani bowlers, Khurram Shahzad was the most successful with four wickets, while Sajid Khan claimed three and Hasan Ali took two wickets.
It should be noted that play on the third day of the five-day Test match is currently underway, and the chances of a draw appear extremely slim. Pakistan must successfully chase 437 runs to secure victory.
