Balochistan Assembly member and Parliamentary Secretary for Minority Affairs, Sanjay Kumar Punjwani, was robbed by armed men in Nasirabad, Balochistan.
According to details, the incident took place in the jurisdiction of Notal Police Station in Nasirabad district.
The robbers stole mobile phones and other valuables from Punjvani and his companions before fleeing the scene.
Sanjay Kumar said that he was traveling to meet members of the minority community and participate in religious rituals when armed men stopped them one to two kilometers from Notal.
He said a van and another vehicle were parked by the roadside in advance, and the robbers surrounded their car, demanding valuables at gunpoint.
His security personnel tried to resist the attackers, but fearing possible firing and loss of life, they were instructed to avoid confrontation. Punjwani said there were about 12 to 15 robbers, and an exchange of fire occurred between the assailants and the security team before the robbers fled the scene.
In a similar incident earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah’s protocol officer Masroor Warsi along with his guests from Canada were robbed in Karachi.
The robbery took place in the Federal B area, Block 9 near Razia Hospital Talwala stop, within the limits of Joharabad police station.
