KARACHI: On the occasion of International Women’s Day in Pakistan, preparations for the Women’s March have reached its peak across the country as new slogans have been prepared with banners this year.
While women around the world enjoy freedom, they also face problems in some places. In Pakistan, a movement called Women’s March is in full swing to provide basic human rights to women and protect them from oppression, and bring women’s demands to the fore.
The Women’s March was launched for the first time in Pakistan on March 8, 2018, in Karachi on the occasion of International Women’s Day with the #MeToo Movement. Women’s March is an annual social and political demonstration in all major cities of Pakistan to mark International Women’s Day.
This March calls for accountability for domestic violence against women and calls for women who have been subjected to violence and sexual harassment in the workplace or anywhere.
The cancellation of the Women’s March in Faisalabad last year has once again portrayed Pakistan as an extremist country and this issue has brought the country into disrepute not only in Pakistan but all over the world.
This year, some new slogans based on the demands of the organizers and participants of the Women’s March are also being introduced.

We keep coming together to create a space that is creative, that allows harmony and love to flow. We refuse to engage on the terms decided by you. We refuse the distractors define us. Our politics is of creation, of love, of togetherness! #AuratAzadiJalsa2022 pic.twitter.com/yzhtcYzw38
