The public auction of toll plazas across the country is underway at the Jinnah Convention Center in Islamabad, which continued for the second day.
According to the National Highway Authority (NHA), 93 toll plazas were offered on the first day of the auction, out of which the auction of 81 plazas could be completed due to judicial matters and technical issues.
According to NHA officials, the organization received additional revenue of more than Rs1 billion in the first day of the open auction, while the successful bids were 30 percent higher than the fixed reserve price on average.
Several companies including National Logistics Cell (NLC), Ali Enterprises, Muhammad Ramzan & Company, and Gohar Hayat participated in the auction.
N5 Jamshoro Plaza was auctioned for Rs156.67 million and Sangjani Plaza for Rs134.845 million.
Due to fiercely competitive bidding, Bewata Plaza on N-70 and Nokundi Plaza on N-40 route saw the highest percentage increase in the entire auction.
Bewata and Nokundi Tall Plazas went up by a record 880 percent and 154 percent respectively above their reserve prices.
