RAWALPINDI: A young student, who failed his test, tried to commit suicide by jumping from the third floor of a private school.
The boy named Mateen, however, survived the fall with serious spinal injuries, which could leave him paralysed for life. According to details, the tragic incident took place on Tulsa Road in Rawalpindi where after failing the test, the student tried to commit suicide by jumping from the third floor of the school.
The injured student has been shifted to hospital for medical treatment and his condition is said to be critical. Family members their son who is a 10th grader, suffered severe mental anguish after failing a test after the school opened and attempted suicide. However, they are hopeful that with proper treatment and medication they may be able to prevent it.
It may be recalled that earlier, the Karachi police had shot a student named Sultan Nazir from Hunza, Gilgit-Baltistan by declaring him a dacoit and the public was protesting. The incident took place 15 days ago, after which ‘Justice for Sultan Nazir’ became a top trend on social media, with more than 1,700 tweets. Nazir was living in Karachi for education and employment when he was killed by Karachi police on the night of 4th January.
