Karachi: A robbery was reported at the residence of a senior police officer in Karachi, where armed suspects allegedly held family members hostage before escaping with valuables.
According to the Senior Superintendent of Police (South), the incident took place between 11:00 pm and midnight at the residence of District Police Officer (DPO) Rahim Yar Khan, Irfan Samo, located in Defence Phase VIII.
Mr Samo stated that four armed robbers entered the house, held family members at gunpoint, and fled with valuable belongings.
The SSP South said that Mr Samo was not present at the residence at the time of the incident.
His brother and nephew were at home when the suspects allegedly held them hostage and stole laptops, mobile phones and other valuables before escaping.
A case has been registered at Sahil Police Station on the complaint of Mr Samo’s brother.
Police officials claim that significant evidence linked to the suspects has been obtained and expressed confidence that those involved will be arrested soon.
