ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has been declared the winner in 7 out of 25 categories for the Apicta Awards 2022.
Speaking at the Apicta Awards 2022 ceremony, Federal Minister for Information Technology Amin-ul-Haq said that Pakistan is paying full attention to the promotion of IT exports, Pakistan’s Information Technology (IT) industry capacity, talent, and startup eco. system and is strongly encouraged to promote its exports to new markets.
Amin-ul-Haq said that Pakistan was given the opportunity to host the Apicta Awards for the first time due to the unwavering commitment of the Ministry of IT and the tireless efforts of local IT companies under the umbrella of the Pakistan Software Houses Association.
A total of 25 categories were awarded in the ceremony, each category included one winner and two merit awards, 7 out of 25 categories were awarded to Pakistan, 6 each to Hong Kong and Thailand. 6 awards were bagged, Brunei 2, while China, Australia, and Sri Lanka won one each, with two merit awards in each category except winner (gold).
Furthermore, while addressing the opening ceremony of Pakistan ITU Digital Inclusion Week, the Federal Minister said that the government is committed to ending the digital divide between urban and rural areas.
