Former senator and senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), Ilyas Ahmad Bilour, passed away in Peshawar on Saturday.
The late Ilyas Ahmad Bilour was the brother of Ghulam Ahmad Bilour and Bashir Ahmad Bilour.
His Namaz-i-Janaza will be offered in Wazir Bagh, Peshawar, at 2:00 pm tomorrow.
Ilyas Ahmad Bilour was born into a political family on January 9, 1940, in Peshawar, where he received his early education. He earned his Faculty of Arts degree from Edwards College.
He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Karachi in 1969 and later earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing from Al-Khair University, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, in 1999.
Ilyas Ahmad Bilour served as the managing director of Flour and General Mills (Pvt.) Ltd. He was elected to the Senate of Pakistan as a candidate of the Awami National Party (ANP) in 2012. He also served as the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industries( FPCCI).
