An ambulance from Holy Family Hospital arrived at Adiala Jail on Sunday to conduct an eye examination of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The development comes amid growing concerns over the health of the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, with authorities confirming that a special medical panel has been constituted to assess his condition and submit recommendations regarding further treatment.
As per media reports, the ambulance has brought various medicines, medical equipment, and machines specifically used for eye examinations. A team of specialist doctors is also arriving at the jail to conduct a detailed medical examination of the PTI founder.
Imran Khan’s initial medical report has been sent to the Government of Punjab. The report includes a complete record of his blood pressure, pulse, body temperature, and blood sugar levels.
In addition, the current condition of his eyes has also been communicated in writing.
The report says that jail staff examine him on a daily basis and that all records are being properly maintained.
Considering the sensitivity of the matter, the federal government has formed a special medical panel that includes Dr. Amjad and Dr. Nadeem Qureshi. After examining Imran Khan in jail, the panel will present its recommendations.
The government has stated that a decision on whether Imran Khan needs to be transferred to a hospital for treatment will be made in light of the medical board’s report.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has expressed concern over the health of its founder. The party maintains that this is a highly serious matter and that all stages of treatment should be completely transparent.
