Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are set to take part in AMAN-2025, a multinational naval exercise hosted in Karachi, aimed at fostering peace and strengthening cooperation among regional and global navies.
Scheduled for February 7–11, the event will be held in Sindh province’s coastal capital on the Arabian Sea, focusing on presenting a united front against terrorism and maritime crimes.
Adm. Naveed Ashraf, Pakistan’s Chief of Naval Staff, emphasized the deep ties between the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) and the Pakistan Navy, describing their relationship as an “enduring maritime brotherhood.”
“The two navies engage through multiple platforms on issues like training, information sharing, and logistics. Regular joint activities include sea exercises like Naseem Al-Bahr, seminars, and personnel training to enhance the RSNF’s capabilities as a formidable force in the Arabian Gulf and beyond,” Ashraf stated.
Highlighting the growing scale of AMAN, Ashraf noted that in 2023, Pakistan hosted delegations from 50 nations, with expectations for even broader participation in 2025. He also mentioned the evolution of the International Maritime Conference into the AMAN Dialogue, designed to facilitate more practical, focused discussions among naval leaders on pressing maritime security challenges.
Ashraf further underscored the Pakistan Navy’s efforts to align naval strategies and operational practices through such exercises, particularly as international engagement continues to expand.
