KARACHI: The All City Traders Alliance has announced its disassociation from the nationwide strike called by Jamaat-e-Islami on April 26 in support of Gaza, stating that they have no involvement in the planned protest.
In an official statement, Sharjeel Goplani, a representative of the Traders Alliance, clarified, “We already registered our protest on April 7. We have no connection with the strike on April 26, which is scheduled for Saturday.”
He further stated that Karachi’s Timber Market will remain open as usual and emphasized that the business community cannot afford further shutdowns amid ongoing economic challenges.
“We are not affiliated with any additional strike. Business is already facing immense difficulties, and we cannot bear further closures,” Goplani remarked, urging traders to continue their operations as normal and refrain from participating in unrelated strike calls.
This clarification comes in response to Jamaat-e-Islami’s call for a nationwide shutdown to express solidarity with the people of Palestine.
