Celebrated actor, philanthropist and investor Alia Bhatt has announced to launch her own line of “Maternity-wear” through a cryptic Instagram post.
She wrote in an Instagram post “Two years ago, I started a children’s clothing brand. Everyone asked why I’m doing kids brand when I don’t have kids. Now, I’m launching my own line of maternity-wear. I don’t think anyone will ask why 🙂 But let me tell you anyway.”

Her fans went wild with some speculating what exactly she meant, while others called her ‘genius’.
A couple years ago, the famous actor had launched her own conscious clothing apparel brand for children, Ed-a-Mamma. The self-funded start-up brand caters to children in the age group of 2-14 years.
Each collection features unique, signature prints. The clothes are environment friendly, made from natural fibres with plastic free buttons and trims, echoing Alia’s vision of nurturing a love for nature among children.
Alia Bhatt’s passion for conversation is well known. She founded Coexist, a website that raises awareness of ecological and animal welfare issues, in order to better understand how things affect the environment and to share what she had learned with others. Along with starting Mi Wardrobe is Su Wardrobe (MiSu), she also enlisted the help of friends and colleagues in the conservation field to broaden the debate around conservation.
“This is a time of great uncertainty for the whole world. The universe is sending us a message: that if we mess with nature, there is a price we all have to pay,” Alia wrote explaining why chose children’s products “To catch them young and create a love for nature at an early age,” she added.
