After a series of box office disappointments, Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force looks set to make a strong comeback. The patriotic drama, featuring Sara Ali Khan and Veer Pahariya, saw a significant rise in earnings on Saturday, with a 75.51% growth.
According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 21.50 crore on Saturday, bringing its total to Rs 33.75 crore. The movie had earned Rs 12.25 crore on Friday.
Saturday’s occupancy stood at 35.76%, with night shows drawing the most viewers. Sky Force is playing in 5037 shows, with Bengaluru leading in occupancy (49.75% in 308 shows). Mumbai had a 44.50% occupancy across 859 shows, while Delhi NCR’s occupancy was 37.50%.
The film opened to positive reviews, with Shubhra Gupta from The Indian Express noting the film’s balanced approach to patriotism and Akshay’s central role. Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and produced by Maddock Films and Jio Studios, Sky Force also stars Nimrat Kaur.
Akshay Kumar, once considered one of Bollywood’s most bankable stars, has experienced a significant downturn in his career with a string of box-office failures. Despite his long-standing reputation as a versatile actor, recent years have seen a series of his films underperform.
